Mobile meals was started by Executive Director and Visionary, Jayne McQueen, in August of 1977, with the influence of First Presbyterian Church and the Spartanburg County Planning Commission. With the assistance from partners like CWS Insurance, Mobile Meals continues to succeed in making an impact on the lives of those in need each and every day. Mobile Meals served their first meal on October 3rd, 1977, helping to feed 25 people. 43 years later, Mobile Meals now serves approximately 1500 people a day and still has CWS Insurance by their side. Mobile Meals is a locally funded, volunteer only operation, serving the upstate area. When you speak to Jayne McQueen, one thing is very clear; she fully believes in the work of CWS Insurance. She is quick to express how impactful CWS Insurance has and continues to be on the success of Mobile Meals, declaring that “they are not only a huge support in business, but are also considered a friend of Mobile Meals Team”. She continued to share how grateful Mobile Meals is for CWS knowing that “when your business is in their hands, you’re getting the best care possible.” CWS Insurance serves Mobile Meals as a business client, but takes their hands on approach shown in their work one step further, with their “personal involvement and commitment” to the Mobile Meals mission itself. Vice president of CWS Insurance, Arthur Yex, volunteers weekly delivering meals to those in need and has done so since his time spent as a student at Wofford College. “The impact that CWS Insurance has on Mobile Meals, in turn positively impacts the community in which they work.” CWS strives to support their local community, keeping their clients best interest in mind, not only in business but in friendship. Their actions speak for themselves; CWS Insurance provides a type of personalized service that is unparalleled.
